The Swainson Islands are an unpopulated group of five islands and rocks located off the south western coast of Tasmania, Australia. The 15.76-hectare (38.9-acre) group of islands are situated close to the southern finish of the western coast of Tasmania, the place the mouth of Port Davey meets the Southern Ocean. The Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Site. [1][2][3] The Swainson Islands are a part of the Southwest Nationwide Park.

Fauna

The island group is a part of the 163-hectare (400-acre) Port Davey Islands Vital Chicken Space, recognized by BirdLife International due to its significance of supporting more than one p.c of the world population of brief-tailed shearwater, fairy prion, little penguin and black-confronted cormorant.[4]
