A marine park is a delegated park consisting of an area of sea (or lake) set aside to realize ecological sustainability, promote marine consciousness and understanding, enable marine recreational activities, and supply benefits for Indigenous peoples and coastal communities.[1] Most marine parks are managed by nationwide governments, and organized like ‘watery’ nationwide parks, whereas marine protected areas and marine reserves are sometimes managed by a subnational entity or non-governmental group, such as a conservation authority.[2]
