Nomads of the World-Ocean is an journey wherein the player characters examine the illegal slaughter of the huge sea creatures on a waterworld, allegedly perpetrated by a megacorporation subsidiary.[1]

William A. Barton reviewed Nomads of the World-Ocean in House Gamer No. 65.[1] Barton commented that “General, if you don’t thoughts the duplication of theme from the earlier work, Nomads could be a worthwhile purchase if you are considering a waterworld and do not have the time or inclination to work it out by yourself, or are simply involved within the potentialities of sea hunts with hunterfoil-sort vessels.”[1]
Andy Slack reviewed Journey 9: Nomads of the World-Ocean for White Dwarf #49, giving it an overall rating of 9 out of 10, and acknowledged that “If the adventurers will be properly guided into the scenario, it is excellent stuff and can final as much as a recreation year or so. The Brothers Keith have their faults, however they can make a world dwell like no-one else.”[2]
Jim Bambra reviewed Adventure 9 – Nomads of the World Ocean for Think about journal, and stated that “Nomads is a superb piece of labor: it has intrigue, motion, function-enjoying and a wealth of background. This world has been properly developed; there’s none of the sketchiness frequent to many Traveller worlds.”[3]
Tony Watson reviewed Nomads of the World-Ocean for various Worlds journal and stated that “General […] Nomads of the World-Ocean is a fast-paced, imaginative journey for Traveller and certainly ranks amongst one of the best to look from GDW. It manages to successfully combine action with a significant social objective.”[4]
